Reconcile Humanity
02:14
|
|||
interconnected...
all life has inherent value
independent of its resource to human utility
diversity of life supports this value
and we have no right to reduce it beyond vital need
the flourishing of all life on Earth
requires human consumption be put in check
we are too many with interference in excess
so our policies must be revised to take affect
the change is an appreciation of life quality
this is not the same as a standard of living
a profound difference between big and great
do you want a paradigm of suicide or of sharing
growth-driven disregard for physical reality
or participation in a network
engage responsibility
more than adjusted lifestyle
more than new technology
alternative conception of what constitutes living
interconnected
...do you want a paradigm of suicide or of sharing
|
||||
2. |
||||
destruction of the Earth exists
proportionately to our estrangement from it
a culture of extraction thrives
on our ecological and social disconnections
revolution without reorientation
can only result in different expression of the same evils
reconnection is wrench in the gears of domination
knowing the land is resistance
knowing each other is resistance
collaboration is wrench in the gears of domination
knowing the land is resistance
knowing each other is resistance
confronting our alienation
developing an ecological vision
collapse of the capitalist paradigm is necessary
for balance between ourselves and the biotic community
compassion is wrench in the gears of domination
knowing the land is resistance
knowing each other is resistance
we do not save what we do not love
and we do not love what we do not know

Appalachia Resist
01:31
|
|||
water we can drink and air we can breathe
we will not accept the trade of poverty for poison
water we can drink and soil that sustains
ecology cannot submit to economy
hydraulic fracturing for oil
toxic radioactive injection wells
frack waste barges on the Ohio River
to violate environment for fleeting profit
water we can drink and air we can breathe
we will not accept the trade of poverty for poison
water we can drink and soil that sustains
ecology cannot submit to economy NO
...a single act of defiance is worth more than a thousand angry words

Bite Back!
01:54
|
|||
kick down the door sabotage
destroy each cage to liberate
with a focused rage
I'll risk my own human freedom
tonight we gotta bite back
smash the walls of silence
direct action to end vivisection
drag atrocities from shadows
of taboo and law's protection
capital hemorrhage is still an awesome mercy
to sociopathic torturers and their careers
to render compassion a myth of yesterday
every day direct action is being used to save lives
every day even today the power is ours to bite back
cut through the fence guerrilla
destroy each cage to liberate
tear apart this nightmarish disgrace to modern science
smash the walls of silence
direct action to end vivisection
drag atrocities from shadows
of taboo and law's protection
anthropocentric attitudes
will only change through education
we don't want a more humane slavery
no we want abolition
since no one is truly free until we all are
don't wait to be invited...
every day even today people just like you
are the Animal Liberation Front

Unmediated Action
02:20
|
|||
no compromise
this Earth for all must not be jeopardized
the tactics of direct action range from education to obstruction
from civil disobedience to confrontation
born from an understanding
that institutions which benefit from exploitation
will not undermine themselves
or restrict their own capacity for world-crippling profit
unmediated action is the most reasonable approach
when laws exist to protect beneficiaries of ecological degradation
when protest and appeal fail to neutralize confirmed threats
to the natural environment we must share in good health
for any species' survival...
legal risks demand you know damn well what you're fighting for
no system or economy can outweigh a life
seek responsible decisions unlike the corporations
with diversity of tactics we're united against eco-holocaust
...or I guess you could just sign a couple more online petitions
you could even memorize the words to this punk song
and feel a cathartic sense that you are actively resisting
some death machine
or you could commit yourself to Earth Liberation
a commitment for each of us that takes unique form
growing reverence for life eclipses past apathies
collective energy governed by a radical love
when fear is the norm, love is radical
action executed with immaculate strategy
can dismantle industries
end ecocide
|
||||
6. |
||||
cowardice asks the question is it safe
expediency asks the question is it polite
vanity asks the question is it popular
but conscience asks the question is it right
talk minus action equals zero
a bookshelf of zines don't make no hero
we each have a role in fighting back
assess your strengths for maximum impact
not limited by if it's safe
and I assure you I don't care if it's polite
nevermind the games dictating if it's popular
your conscience asks the question is it right
the commodification of life is a disgrace to the moral mind
an animal is not your property
and the value of a life is not measured by money

Face The Anthropocene
01:20
|
|||
vast landscapes of essential forest are leveled every year
for unsustainable expansion of agriculture and industry
causing climate change, habitat loss,
countless extinctions, soil degradation
with Eden before it and destined for desert
this industrial machine knows no limits in its terminal pillaging
sawing off the branch we're sitting on
denying the horrors of the Anthropocene
sedated until the last tree is slashed down
distracted while the last river is dammed
our collective violence exported to margins
privileged ignorance
apathetic to the facts
well-lit homes powered by magic? no
by a fucking mountain cut in half
but our fate is bound up with this Earth's
so live your life like life has worth

Sober Fight
02:51
|
|||
to every anarchist kid young or younger
to the straight edge
to every radiant deviant engaging radical sobriety
to the notion that our world's animal earth human defense
only excels uncompromised
our decided minds for victory
not always just a means of surviving past vices
freedom is not a trophy, it is a tool, sometimes a weapon
conviction against the glorified crutch of intoxication
resist an overindulgence in distraction and self-sabotage
this religion of defeat won't engulf me
I've got clarity
weak hearts cower in my contrast to take life raw
towards a less fucked up world...
when police are at the door getting rabid with no warrant
a sharp mind can deflect cops I'm not some drunk in jail downtown
and when someone I love is drugged at a show
I'll be sober to protect them and I'll hunt the fucking problem down
can't live year after year forfeiting memories
survival cannot be synonymous with a plague disguised as fashion
and while our Earth is in the grip of any force of oppression
I will be sober to fight for total liberation
to every anarchist kid young or younger
to the straight edge
to every radiant deviant engaging radical sobriety
to the notion that our world's animal earth human defense
only excels uncompromised
our decided paths in solidarity
